The Challenge of 5G TCU Functional KPI & Regression Testing

Methods for evaluating 5G are complex due to the adoption of new technologies, such as large number of frequency bands, MIMO, and more. A key future issue is how to construct a test environment to efficiently develop and maintain a test plan, performing reliable and effective field tests, connecting to the automaker’s back end service servers, and more. Using the New Radio Non-Standalone Architecture (NR NSA) mode, a wider bandwidth can be implemented by aggregating both the LTE and NR carrier waves. A serious challenge is how to implement and configure a test environment for testing all the possible frequency bands and band combinations for an acceptable cost of test.
