In recent years, wireless communications functions have been added to domestic white goods, such as robotic cleaners, refrigerators, washing machines, etc., as well as to industrial products, including digital cameras and sensors. Moreover, the future widespread deployment of IoT devices seems likely to expand the use of wireless communications. In most cases, wireless communications functions are implemented using either wireless LAN (WLAN) or Bluetooth® wireless technologies, but this document describes products incorporating wireless LAN functions.
