Reduce Live Network Tests for Automotive Applications

Wireless technologies have acquired increasing importance during the last decade in the automotive industry, making the experience of driving easier, safer, and more comfortable. All the wireless standards, including mobile, short-range wireless, and navigation, help to keep the driver connected everywhere, while broadcast technologies keep the vehicle occupants safe, connected, and entertained. Aiming to ensure safety and the quickest responses from emergency services in the event of a traffic accident, an emergency call made by a user’s device may experience service issues like forbidden or limited availability, or out of service. Testing such scenarios in a test setup is critical to ensure correct functionality in a live network which may be too expensive or not available. An effective option is using a base station emulator to replace such tests.
