Part 1 - 5G Network Overview from End User to Metro-edge, Poster Walkthrough
The next generation of wireless infrastructure will create a new level of dependency on wireless systems. As device counts and applications expand exponentially, congestion will increase. Both the RF ecosystem and transport networks will experience elevated stresses. Any disturbances within the system could have significant ramifications to system performance. Join us in discussing the importance of testing individual segments as well as the system overall. Topics will include transport technologies, RF spectrum utilization and techniques to locating and mitigating interference.
Part 2 - 5G Fundamentals – Preparing for the Generation of Challenges
As the number of independent wireless devices come on-line, there will be a substantial increase in the probability of issues due to incompatibility, poor manufacturing practices or even nefarious activities. As 5G networks expand from macro/general coverage to private/specialized focused, a shift in personnel skillsets and responsibilities will occur. Who ensures a private 5G network covering a manufacturing floor remains functional? Will a system design be needed for every tooling change? In this session we will explore signal quality measurements, current and advanced technologies designed to identify, locate and mitigate RF interference and discus coverage related issues.
Part 3 - 5G xHaul Transport – Next Generation Fronthaul Interface (NGFI) Overview
Fiber has played a growing role in wireless networks, particularly in the Mobile Fronthaul and Fiber to the Antenna (FTTA) applications as expanding use cases have required greater network speed. That will become even more prominent with 5G, as the Mobile Fronthaul evolves into the Next Generation Fronthaul Interface (NGFI) due to its expanded latency, bandwidth and transmission speeds. This presentation briefly describes this evolution from a standpoint of new standards, designs, and testing requirements.
Part 4 - 5G xHaul Testing Challenges – Use Cases
As wireless and wireline networks prepare for the evolution to 5G supported networks, Fiber optical network technicians and administrators face new challenges in implementing and testing wireline equipment and fiber. From Fiber testing, to CPRI and Ethernet traffic generation, this brief presentation will provide a basic overview of the latest technology and new test methodologies developed to tackle the increased requirements presented by 5G Networks.
