The recent introduction of Thunderbolt 5 technology has brought up to 120Gb/s data transfer over the USB-C®. PAM3 signaling brings higher data throughput to gaming computers, monitors, docks, and storage and storage devices. All over the same USB-C connector. Thunderbolt ‘downstream’ technologies also supported are 80Gb/s DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, 40Gb/s USB4v1, and 20Gb/s USB 3.2.
