Automation for RF Parametric Measurements

Manual testing is commonly used to confirm device under test (DUT) functionality, but in terms of scope it is impossible to use this test method to verify all permutations of RF parametric measurements. Additionally, OEM RF products would require carrier verification which is an extensive suite of 3GPP test specifications to be carrier approved. For modems to operate according to defined specifications, test cases are created to verify and monitor correct operations onto a carrier’s network. OEMs need to follow 3GPP test specifications to have verified DUTs that can be supported on these networks. OEMs need reliable automation tools to implement the required breadth of tests, supplement resource headcount and keep costs down while ensuring consistent and reliable tests execution. Automation would execute several iterations of multiple test cases with pass/fail criteria to adequately characterize the DUT’s performance and verify network conformance while also highlighting any potential issues.
