Wireless LAN and Bluetooth® Technology

Electronic devices around us adopt various wireless communication standards depending on their purpose. The technologies differ in communication distance, transmission speed, and power-saving capability, among other characteristics. These include 5G and 4G for cellular networks and NB-IoT, LTE-Cat M1, LoRa, and Sigfox for low-power wide area networks (LPWAN), as well as RedCap, wireless LAN (WLAN), and Bluetooth technology.

In short-range communication, WLAN and Bluetooth technology are characterized by high-speed data transmission or low power consumption. They also provide easy connectivity to multiple devices. Furthermore, because of their low cost of use, these technologies are employed in a vast range of products, including cell phones, IoT devices, automobiles, audio equipment, and
medical equipment, thus supporting people’s lives.

While WLAN and Bluetooth technology are used in all kinds of situations, there are some issues to address for enabling comfortable communication. This document describes those use case issues and solutions.
